The World Metal Alliance

Frequently Asked Questions.

Q. What is the World Metal Alliance?

A. The World Metal Alliance is an organization of metal musicians and fans, dedicated to preserving and promoting heavy metal music. It has grown to become a globally recognized source for unbiased information on both heavy metal music and any current events, which may affect the metal subculture. Just as classical musicians and listeners have united into societies and organizations in order to exchange information vital to the perpetuation and promotion of classical music; the Alliance was established, and operates, in order to exchange information vital to the perpetuation and promotion of heavy metal music. For more information on the Alliance, view our WMA page.

Q. Do I have to become a member of the Alliance in order to use this site or participate in the chat boards, chat rooms, polls and petitions?

A. No. Membership is an option, not a requirement. For more information on membership, view our ENLIST page.

Q. Where is the Alliance located?

A. View the current maps on our MAPS page.

Q. How come my favorite band, (insert precious little band name here), isn't on your links page?

A. Unlike many sites, metal.20m.com is primarily poll driven. The Alliance has always been poll driven, in determining what information we provide. If you want to see (insert precious little band name here) on our links page, then vote for them in our poll. And, why not have the entire (insert precious little band name here) fan club vote also.

Q. Why does the background music on some pages sound like trash?

A. They are midi files, digital sheet music that plays back through your sound card. Because of their small file size, they were chosen as a way to provide some sound and still maintain a fast download time. However, they only sound as good as the sound card through which they are played. If the music sounds like trash it is because your sound card is probably a piece of trash. You can turn down the volume on your speakers, or for about thirty dollars, you can buy a better sound card and get the FULL effect.
